Health Services
Mission
To provide health services and health education to District 272 schools. To remove or modify barriers to learning that are caused by health related issues by working collaboratively with educators, administrators, support staff, students and families.

Health screening and referrals: vision and scoliosis

Immunization compliance review

Communicable Disease monitoring/control/prevention

Health Education: Hand washing, Growth and Development, Dental Health, Asthma Education, HIV/AIDS

Visits to schools: individual student/staff visits and consultation and referral for health related issues

Attend school’s multidisciplinary team meetings when student or school issues have a health-related component

Distribute health supplies to schools

Identify ‘medically fragile’ students and implement health care plan/emergency plan

Liaison to families and community for information related to health, financial assistance/health insurance.

Provide CPR/AED and First Aid training to school district staff.
